AOT Features
The Actions Options Tool consists of several web tools to help a large organization stay organized, manage their members, publish several types of content to a website, and to manage marketing and email newsletter campaigns. The AOT features are accessible to users through the Admin control panel.
All of the AOT features are at your fingertips within the Administrator Control Panel. The main site administrator is also able to set varying access levels for different users in the system, which makes it easy to allow or remove privileges and features for each user.
- News article publishing system
- Actions/events publishing tool (and grid) for coordinating efforts
- Event calendar
- User registration system
- Email campaign/marketing tool
- Discussion forums
- Message center - for Administrators and Committees
- Political action centers (petitions, boycotts, eletters, fundraisers, etc.)
ACTIONS (THE ACTIONS GRID), VOTING, HOUSE PARTIES/EVENTS
At the heart of the AOT is a publishing tool where actions/events are posted online so that all users may learn about future plans, support them, and even participate in them to create better results. Just this feature alone helps to eliminate unintentional redundancies that occur when the "right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing." This feature of the AOT is also capable of producing more significant results during the execution of the events themselves by providing a centralized "bulletin board" and calendar of upcoming events where all members can easily plan their activities to coordinate and not conflict with the actions of other users. Furthermore, the AOT allows users unable to participate in events to provide virtual "support" and share their enthusiasm for projects.
ACTIONS can be: events, vigils, forums, talks, visits to elected official, petitions, boycotts, film showings, speak outs, press conferences, editorial board meetings, tabling, letters to editors, mass-phone-calls to elected officials.
Under the heading ‘Votes’ users can note the degree of support for the actions of other users/chapters.
House Parties/Events - There is a module in the software where an event can be set up and people can sign up to participate in that specific event and have the organizers communicate with them through the web.
Calendar
The calendar is a great way to keep your organization organized. The calendar is dynamically populated with actions and events in the system. Administrators can post other key dates as well such as committee meetings, conference calls, etc.
Message Center (Message Transmission)
The message center provides representatives (admins) of chapters, regions or offices the opportunity to email any other admin within the organization or company. There is even the option for an admin to email all other admins in the company or organization simultaneously. Through the Message Center, Admins can get a list of phone numbers for fellow administrators. This information is not accessible unless you are logged in as a registered user.
Articles and Announcements (Home Page Updates)
Articles and announcements are a way for users to upload content - articles, videos, etc - to the home page of the AOT-using site. As new content gets posted older articles move down the page. Announcements disappear after their date has past.
Petitions and Boycotts
Users can design an action around the campaign (for example, a petition delivery) and place it on the actions grid, linking back to the petition just created gathering the support in other regions. These are a great way to make connections and build a database for the group as a whole, but also to gather information about people in each area.
E-Letters
E-Letters are modeled after the e-letter centers of national organizations. The AOT e-letter functionality offers the admin of any participating organization the ability to compose and post a letter online that can be modified by a visitor and transmitted to the target chosen by the admin. Admins can also create a custom target, for example the mayor of a local town, if an e-letter online action requires a localization of the programming.
Online Fundraisers
Online fundraisers (which requires a payment gateway) can be set up through the AOT . Fundraisers can focus on an event, promote an action, piggy-back on an online campaign, or stand alone as an ongoing way to collect funds. Several sorting criteria allow the administrator to gather high quality information, reporting what works best when using these tools. The system only allows credit card contributions.
Resources
The resources center is a place where links, documents, videos, audio files books and pictures relating to the work of your organization can be uploaded so that materials can be readily accessible to those who need them. Resources can be marked as private or public depending on whether they are for internal use or can be viewed by the general public.
AOT Test-drive
We encourage you to take advantage of our invitation to test our software by signing up to become an administrator in our test site. Add, create, delete, and manipulate this system to get a feel for how easy it is to use.
If you are interested in taking the tool for a "test drive" please contact us. After we find out a little about you and your organization's needs, we'll provide you with login information to our test environment
